  • Yellow onion

Variations and Substitutions:

Feel free to tweak the recipe, using buns or even mashed potatoes in place of the Texas toast, if you prefer. You could also try using ground pork or half pork and half beef. Any other type of sliced cheese would work too. You might want to have American sliced cheese on top of the bread and then another kind (maybe cheddar) on top of the Sloppy Joes.
