This is a delightful and great lunch or dinner idea you can make in almost no time. If you prefer the taste of potatoes and meat, this mousaka-inspired dish promises a lot. Even your kids will crave this recipe because it’s that good. The preparation time will take only 20 minutes. You must brown the ground beef with the onion and cook on the stove for 10 minutes. Then, layer the potatoes in a casserole pan and top them with the cooked beef mixture.

Then it’s time for the cheese. Everyone loves cheese; this recipe will be much faster with lots of cheese. The more cheese you will use, the taster it will be.

Why you’ll love the recipe

It’s a comforting meal that is cheap and so easy to put together. You can involve your kids too in the preparation time to help you layer the potatoes while you prepare the ground beef mixture. How fun is that?

How to serve it

Serve it just right after baking. This is best served while still warm.

What you need:

How to make Meat and potato casserole:

First, preheat your oven to 350 or 180 degrees C.

Place your ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium to high heat. Cook for about 5 minutes until the meat is browned in color, and the onions are softened.

Mix the rosemary, garlic powder, soup, heavy cream, broth, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

Layer ½ of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of a well-greased 9×13 inch baking dish.

Add ⅓ of the soup mixture and ½ of the meat mixture.

Place another layer of the potatoes, then ⅓ of the soup mixture, and the rest of the meat mixture.

Top with the rest of the soup mixture and sprinkle with grated cheese.

Cover with a piece of aluminum foil and bake for about 90 minutes.

Serve and enjoy.

I love this dish because it’s very versatile. It’s perfect for lunch or dinner and an even greater idea for a potluck. What I think you will love the most is that even the pickiest eaters will enjoy it even more.
